How do you define wisdom? You were just invited to speak at the White House. Write your speech. What concerns you about your world? What do you hope to do to make it better? The prompts were the culmination of several years of discussion about the role writing plays in a holistic selection process and were designed with the assistance of 15 counselors on the associations Outreach Advisory Committee, who worked diligently to ensure that all applicants, regardless of background or access to counseling, would have the chance to tell their unique stories.
After a positive response from Common Application member colleges and school counselors, The Common Application will retain the current set of first-year essay prompts for 2014-15, without any edits or additions. What did you learn? Transfer Applicants, this year, well also be asking transfer applicants to submit two essays. The first essay is from the main part of the Common Application. Youll be asked to respond to the following prompt in an essay of 250-650 words: Please provide a statement that addresses your reasons for transferring and the objectives you hope.
